Situated on the outskirts of Yeovil in the county of Somerset, this school caters for children and young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as additional needs such as SEMH and Language and Communication Difficulties.  It has a wide catchment area across south Somerset and into Dorset, welcoming children and young adults between the ages of four and nineteen.

Although they cater for young people up to the age of 19, they currently only have students up to the age of 16 and are looking for 2 teachers; one to work within the primary department and one in the secondary department.

As a teacher at this school, you will:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Be able to differentiate lesson plans appropriately within the groups you teach
  • Set appropriately challenging learning expectations for pupils
  • Demonstrate and be committed to the equality of opportunity for all pupils
  • Create and maintain a creative, stimulating and supportive environment for the pupils

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • High Levels of patience
  • Knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
  • Ability to prioritise with excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to communicate and maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible and able to cope with Pressure

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
