Teaching Personnel are recruiting a behaviour support officer for a partner school based in Newcastle. The role is full time and to commence in September, with a strong possibility of a permament contract for the right candidate.
The school prides itself on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. They are looking for someone to be committed and enthusiastic in order to establish positive relationships with students and offer support to regulate their feelings
The school day is from 8.30am-3.30pm. You will be supporting Secondary aged pupils with a wide range of social, emotional and mental health needs. A typical day will involve supporting pupils with their emotional wellbeing, enabling pupils to access academic work and helping to grow their self esteem and confidence.
Pupils at the school have a range of complex needs which include behaviours that can challenge, learning disabilities, SALT, foetal alchohol syndrome, ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression. Some pupils are looked after children, living in foster care and come from difficult backgrounds that involve alcohol/ drug abuse and traumatic experiences.
