Chemistry Teacher - Northumberland

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Chemistry Teacher for a successful Faith Secondary school in Northumberland. The successful Teacher will be joining a school with impressive results across the board. Ofsted rated this school "Good" with special praise of the quality of teaching and senior management team.

This Science Teaching position is a fixed term full time position from September 2019 until April 2020, covering a maternity. Subjects to be covered will include Chemistry up to KS5 and Biology and Physics up to KS4. This co-educational secondary school has a supportive and dynamic Science department with great resources throughout.

Specific Details about the role:

  • Science Teaching role (Physics up to KS5 and Chemistry and Biology up to KS4)
  • Starting in September 2019 until Easter 2020 initially
  • Five days per week
  • Potential for a permanent role following the maternity cover

About the School

  • Fully inclusive mixed community 11-18 school
  • Catholic Faith -experience in a faith school is desirable but not essential
  • Rated 'Good' in most recent Ofsted observation
  • Outstanding resources throughout the school
  • School leadership is strong and focused on student and staff welfare
  • Located in Central Northumberland with good transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas

In order to be considered for this role, the Science Teacher will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree with QTS
  • Proven experience teaching the UK, or an equivalent, curriculum
  • NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply
  • Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police check
