Job description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our client secondary school located in Middlesbrough.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to deliver outstanding lessons and demonstrate a flair for teaching and learning. You will have high expectations for standards and achievement and be open to new and innovative ways of teaching.

This opportunity has arisen due to a gap in the school’s Science department, and we are looking for a talented individual to take on full teaching responsibilities and lead a full timetable. Additionally, you will be flexible, collaborative, and resilient, with a strong commitment to promoting positive behaviour management. This is a full-time position, teaching KS3 and KS4. You will work closely with other members of the department to ensure a cohesive and supportive working environment. We offer a competitive salary in line with the MPS/UPS scale, ranging from £30,000 to £46,525 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding lessons to students.
  • Lead a full timetable and take on full planning and marking responsibilities.
  • Show a flair for teaching and learning, and a passion for Chemistry.
  • Have high expectations for standards and achievement.
  • Be flexible, collaborative, and resilient in your approach to teaching.
  • Work closely with department members to promote positive behaviour management.

Requirements:

  • UK qualified QTS
  • Must be able to provide a DBS on the update service/willingness to apply for an enhanced DBS (child workforce only)
  • Be able to provide references from your teacher training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
