Chemistry Teacher - Derby - Part Time - Maternity - Starting immediately

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on the behalf of our client secondary school in Derby who are looking to recruit a teacher of Chemistry starting immediately to cover a maternity - working 3 days per week. This will be a temporary, long-term position, teaching Chemistry across KS3, KS4 and KS5. This is an 'Outstanding' school in the Derby area.
The role
- Part time position - 3 days per week
- You will be required to teach Chemistry to secondary school pupils between the ages of 11-18 years (KS3, KS4 and KS5)
- Preparing and planning for lessons with marking required
- Following and promoting the school curriculum and pushing for highest attainment
- Competitive rates of pay (after 12 weeks: AWR rate, paid to the scale the school would pay at directly)
Requirements for the role
- Must have QTS and experience teaching Chemistry to KS5
- Willingness to take on some intervention groups and booster sessions
- Strong behaviour management with experience working with SEN pupils a preference
- Will have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to provide the best education to pupils
- Will be required to apply for a Child Workforce DBS, if you do not already have one on the update service

- Grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSEs at 61%, above national average of 43%
- Progress 8 score - 0
- Attainment 8 score - 52.9%, above the national average of 46.7%

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
