Catholic Primary School- Need Reception Class Teacher

Date posted : 21/02/18
£90 - £130 per day + CPD

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

A graded 'GOOD' Catholic School located between Darwen and Blackburn have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a Reception teacher to work full time until Easter. The school have approached Teaching Personnel as we hold a Service Level Agreement with Catholic Schools under the Salford Diocese. The permanent Reception class teacher is currently poorly and the school have decided to implement a medium term plan in order to gain the consistency with the children in the class. The cover role will be to start as soon as possible and will potentially run full time for a minimum of five weeks. The Business Manager in School has noted that the role will potentially last longer than the initial five weeks and so the appointment could be considered more longer term.

With this in mind, the Head teacher would like to see the CVs of any applying teachers by Thursday 22nd February. The CV must state your recent experience working in a Reception class and also state how you have improved standards in school. The Head teacher is then keen to meet the shortlisted CVs with the hope of taking someone from next week. There is not a preference as to whether the school take a Newly Qualified Teacher or a more experienced practitioner.

The School does fall under the Salford Diocese and so it is important that you are able to respect and uphold the Catholic Faith in school. The school is situated within a social housing estate and the children tend to arrive from socially deprived backgrounds; with this, they tend to fall behind expected national expectations. The Head is very supportive and welcoming and will set up a number of meetings with the English and Maths Lead teachers in school in order to plan effectively. The school use Jolly Phonics and Letters and Sounds as there school Phonics scheme and it is therefore important that you have experience working alongside these.

Please contact me ASAP if you are interested in being put forward for this medium term work.

Also, if this is not the role for you then please do not hesitate to contact me as we may have a suitable position after the Easter holidays or possibly from May half term or September.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
