Job description

We are currently recruiting British Sign Language Teaching Assistants on behalf of a reputable Primary School located in Poulton-le-Fylde. The school is in need of BSL TAs who can hit the ground running immediately to work in mainstream classes, providing support to hard of hearing and deaf pupils. This role involves working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, interpreting for the classroom teacher to ensure that these students can fully participate in classroom activities. To be considered for this role, you must be BSL Level 2 qualified.

The school offers both full-time and part-time positions.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working in a mainstream school is desirable.
  • You MUST be BSL Level 2 Qualified.
  • You MUST be able to sign and speak to ensure that pupils have a good understanding of classroom activities.
  • Flexible and able to support children of all ages.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • A valid DBS that is registered on the update service or willing to complete an application.
