BSL Support Worker - Manchester
Do you want to support 16-18 students with hearing difficulties to flourish in their education using BSL?
We are looking for a number of full time BSL Support workers who can use British Sign Language (BSL) to support a client college in Manchester.
With over 5000 students the new cohort of EHCP students has a large number of deaf pupils entering the college. Your role will be to engage in conversation with the students by using British Sign Language, allowing them to feel less isolated and supported, check in on their wellbeing, build a relationship and support their academic achievement. You will be supporting and relaying information from the main class teacher specifically in the colleges brand new SEN provision located just by Victoria station, Manchester.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Confident using British Sign Language to Level 2 Standard, including over video call
- Good communication skills
- SEN Teaching Assistant, support or care work are all beneficial but not essential
Role Benefits:
