Bristol Secondary Teaching Assistant

Global delay & Autism

ASAP start

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic person to work in a mainstream school in Bristol (BS10) the role is with a 12 year old boy as a 1:1 learning support assistant/teaching assistant in the classroom. This child has development delays and is on the autistic spectrum, He doesn't have any difficult behaviour, is active, lovely boy but has slow learning due to global development delay and also diagnosed with autism.

We are looking for an SEN 1:1 Support, TA on who is seeking a full time role and has the initial experience working with children with autism and feels comfortable on a 1:1 basis. This role also might suit someone who has experience in working with young children this could be teaching children with SEN, SEN Teaching Assistants, psychology graduates or speech & language background.

About the school

This school in Bristol have a really good reputation in sustaining their quality and the attention to detail in regards to their pupil's with challenging behaviour. They have a really good SEN unit which it well maintained due to the quality of their current staff. However, they are looking for a candidate who can bring a really enthusiastic approach to the department.

As Teaching Personnel and the school have a really good relationship, they encourage candidates to use the CPD academy. This provides Teachers and Teaching Assistants with the opportunity to go on external course; this will enhance their knowledge and understanding.

Having a good depth of experiences with schools in education will enhance your chances of becoming a successful candidate. Furthermore, having a child work force DBS on the update service will speed the process of this role.
