Biology Teacher

A school in South Manchester is looking for a Biology teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. The required applicant will need:

• To hold QTS.
• To hold a degree in either Biology, or a Science related subject.
• To have experience in the delivery of high quality Biology lessons, up to GCSE level.

The position in will begin after the Christmas break and will run through until the end of the academic year in 2021.

Pay annually: GBP25,000 - GBP41,000 based on experience. 

Key aspects of the role are as follows:

• Inspiring students to work to the best of their ability at all times when in the classroom.
• Encouraging students on an individual level, consistently motivating and supporting pupils throughout lessons.
• Working with non teaching support staff to identify and support students who may require further extended help within the subject.
• Provide regular updates related to progress/attainment to subject leaders/senior leaders, as well as parents when necessary.
• Monitoring day to day issues related to attendance, exam preparation, as well as in-class assessment/testing.
• Delivering practical lessons that engage and inspire students.
• Having strong knowledge when it comes to the use of lab equipment, and being able to inform students of the importance of health and safety procedures.
• Deliver lessons that are consistent in looking to readily allow students to achieve their target grade.
• Maintaining strict COVID protocols at all times.

• Based in South Manchester, the school is a short distance from Manchester city centre.

The M60 motorway is also located close to the school.

There are multiple public transport links, including Metrolink stops as well as bus stops.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
