Behavioural Support Assistant – PRU School, Liverpool
A PRU school in Liverpool is dedicated to providing a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. Role and Responsibilities
The Behavioural Support Assistant will play a key role in supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs. Responsibilities include:

Implementing trauma-informed practices to foster a safe and supportive learning space.

Delivering one-to-one and group support to help students manage behaviour and emotions effectively.
-
Building positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
-
Applying positive behaviour management strategies to help students overcome day-to-day challenges.
-
Motivating and guiding students towards both academic and personal goals.

Monitoring and recording progress, making adjustments to support plans when required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience and knowledge of trauma-informed practice and behavioural support.
-
A strong commitment to supporting children who have struggled in mainstream education.
-
High levels of empathy, resilience, and patience.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
The ability to build meaningful relationships and manage challenging situations effectively.
-
A proactive, solution-focused, and positive approach to teamwork.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
