Behavioural Support Assistant - Huntingdon

A fantastic primary school in the Huntingdon area are looking for a Behaviour Buddy to aid and provide support on a 1:1 basis, as well as work within small groups to ensure pupils that are demonstrating signs of challenging behaviour are still achieving the best results possible.

This role is ideal for applicants that have relevant experience working within schools/nursery or any other professional educational supporting environments for children/young adults. If you are local to the Huntingdon area or have your own transport then we would highly recommend that you apply, provided you possess relevant experience.

As a Behaviour Buddy, you will be working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of [upils, providing help and focussed support to children who have behavioural difficulties.

In your role as a Behaviour Buddy, you will be expected to:

  • Motivate and engage the pupils
  • Encourage and aid development of pupils while consistently reporting feedback to leading members of staff.
  • Work alongside key school staff to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and improve levels of attendance and behaviour of the pupils; all of which could be possible through your dedication and commitment to the role
  • Ensure that tasks are carried out professionally, but also in a fun and rewarding manner.

If you possess any of the following, then you are highly desirable for the role:

  • A Degree (BA, Masters)
  • School Based Experience
  • Training (Team Teach, Norfolk/ Cambridge Steps)
  • Armed Forces Experience
  • Support Work Experience
  • Prison Guard Officer Experience
