Behavioural Support Assistant
Location: Caldicot
Pay rate: from £12.90 per hour
Start date: 3rd June
Hours: 8.30am – 3pm.
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Behavioural Support Assistant to work closely with pupils in a school in Caldicot. It is a secondary school where you will be working with pupils between the ages of 11-16. Part of the role will involve working 1:1 with pupils and as a part of small groups. You will need to be able to build relationships and break down barriers to form bonds with the children.
The successful candidate should be competent giving support pupils to manage their behaviour, emotions and help them develop their social skills. You will be a part of a bigger team so being able to work with the other staff members is also important. Being able notice potential triggers and distractions and create a positive learning environment for the student.
Candidate qualities
- You will need to be patient, resilient and have strong classroom presence.
- Confident, have an approachable manner and outgoing.
- Enthusiasm to work with pupils who need additional time to progress.
- Show great behavioural management skills.
- Work within a team of support staff.
Requirements
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS)
- 2 references from your most recent employers.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.
- Educational workforce council.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
