Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Witham
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a specialist teaching assistant who has previously worked with students with social, emotional, mental health difficulties (SEMH). The position is within a specialist SEN school and would be a challenging but highly rewarding role, based in Witham in Essex.
Particular personal or professional experience of supporting children or young adults with SEMH is highly desirable, such as an understanding of the complexities related to those who experience it. The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of teaching and behaviour strategies relevant to this.
A Team Teach qualification or relevant moving and handling experience would be beneficial but not essential. Teaching Personnel are also able to provide a range of training; including Team Teach, Introduction to Autism and Moving and Handling, to help with your development as a specialist SEN Teaching Assistant.
We require teaching assistants to apply who are passionate in assisting children with SEMH to access the curriculum and either live locally or can travel to Witham for work. An understanding and flexible nature is essential, and the school is particularly keen to have candidates who are proactive, empathetic, engaging and creative.
Should you require any additional information regarding SEMH or indeed to apply for the position, please contact your SEN specialist Stacey Clark on 01245 206760 or apply via the links provided!
