Role: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Pay: £11.85-12.50

Working hours: 08:15-15:15 (Monday to Friday)

Location: Southport

The Headteacher of a Catholic Primary School in Southport is looking for a dynamic teaching assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis in Year 6. This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday term time only working from 8:15-15:15 each day with 30 minutes for lunch.

This is a 1:1 role working alongside a young boy who will be transitioning back to mainstream from an alternative provision. The child in question is sometimes dis-engaged and does require a firm but fair approach, has a keen interest in sport therefore, a practitioner who shares these interests may be a good fit for the role! Experience working alongside children displaying challenging behaviours would also be beneficial. We also welcome applications from candidates with experience of supporting vulnerable adults in a support capacity.

Candidates must hold a relevant childcare qualification, health and social care qualification or Teaching Assistant qualification (L2 minimum). This role would also be suitable for ECTs, experienced Teachers, HLTAs, experienced Tas – looking to further their knowledge and experience of working with children with SEND.

Rates of pay are competitive for work of this nature starting from £11.85-12.50 per hour dependant upon experience. This role is to begin from Monday 2nd October and will continue until the end of the academic year. The child will be moving to Secondary school from September, however the Headteacher has expressed she is keen to secure an additional Teaching Assistant from September 2024, therefore this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your abilities in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
