Teaching Personnel are looking for a behaviour support assistant to work in a vibrant and dynamic secondary provision which is currently seeking an energetic support worker to work in a one to one basis with a student with challenging behaviour. Working 1:1 alongside the student, you will be responsible for providing both academic and pastoral support so that they can really make the most of their time at school.
The school based in Penarth are seeking an individual who isn't fazed by challenging behaviour to come into the school and support KS3 and KS4 pupils who struggle with standard classroom activities. The next academic year sees many of these pupils working towards their GCSE's' and they require support to keep them focused and ensure their behaviour doesn't disrupt their learning. You may be supporting them in class as well as on a 1-1 basis in a specialist behaviour unit.
The ideal candidates must be able to;
- Build strong and trusting relationships with the pupils
- Be able to cope with irrational, disruptive and aggressive behaviour effectively
- Be creative and engaging when supporting the pupil with work in a classroom and on a 1:1 basis
This is a long term, full time role with the opportunity to turn into a permanent contract for the right candidate. You will be paid a minimum of £57 per day.
