Behaviour Support Worker

A small two form entry Primary school located in the Standish area is currently seeking an individual with suitable experience for the post of a Behaviour Mentor. The post of a Behaviour Mentor is to work alongside other colleagues providing support to identified students that need assistance with their learning and behaviour.

  • Full time Behaviour Mentor post, starting in September 2019 (possibly earlier for the right candidate)

  • Previous experience working in a similar setting is essential
  • Competitive pay rates starting between £50-£65 a day dependant on experience

As a Behaviour Mentor you will be preparing and delivering learning activities to individuals and groups alongside monitoring students across attendance, behaviour and achievement. You will also be responsible for providing support for students, teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils with behavioural needs.

This is a small primary school located in Standish is a short drive away from the M6 motorway. The school is based on a large site with spacious classroom and excellent provisions for all students to progress in.

A successful applicant should:

  • Have experience supporting children within this area
  • Preferably have school biased experience
  • Preferably be qualified in Team Teach
  • Have strong behaviour management techniques
  • Have a calm understanding nature
  • Be approachable
  • Be a good communicator and be able to work as part of a team

The school will consider applicants with experience from a community support or sport coaching background and can offer further development opportunities within school.
