We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Behaviour Support Unit (BSU) — a specialist provision within our inclusive and caring primary school.
This role is a unique opportunity to support pupils who require additional help managing their emotions and behaviours, enabling them to access learning and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
About the Role:
You will work with individual pupils and small groups, delivering tailored interventions to:

Support emotional regulation and behaviour
-
Reinforce positive relationships and routines
-
Enable successful reintegration into the classroom setting
You’ll work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to provide consistent, structured, and nurturing support.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
✅ Has experience working with children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
✅ Remains calm, consistent, and compassionate under pressure
✅ Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
✅ Works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
✅ Is proactive, reflective, and resilient
A relevant qualification in child development, behaviour management, or a related field is desirable — but not essential for the right candidate with passion and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
