Are you looking for a role in a SEN school but not sure where to start?

We are working with an excellent SEN school in Burgess Hill who cater for primary and secondary pupils with SEND. Pupil’s needs range from mild to severe learning difficulties to physical disabilities; the school provide a tailored safe space for these children to learn and reach their full potential.

This role is Mon-Fri 8.30-3.30, term time only.

Don’t have school experience? Not to worry- we will consider applicants with the following experience or similar:

  • Care work
  • Support workers
  • Children’s sports coach
  • Personal experience e.g. Supporting a relative with SEND
  • Mainstream teaching assistant roles providing SEN support
  • Graduates with relevant qualifications e.g. psychology, special education, pedagogy
  • Volunteer work with children’s groups e.g. Scouts/Guides

What you will do as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Build good relationships with pupils
  • Manage challenging behaviours (training provided)
  • Support with class work
  • Support them in their personal development and relationships with peers
  • Provide personal care where necessary (training provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
