Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant for a Behaviour Support role in a school in the Bodmin area,
The successful candidate will be working with pupils between 5 and 16 years old with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. The pupils may have been excluded from mainstream education and regularly display challenging behaviour. You will be able to build a rapport with young people and establish values based on mutual respect, trust and understanding.
Hours: 08:30-16:00 5 days a week
Pay: GBP60-GBP70 a day
As a Teaching Assistant you will:
- Support the students in structured lessons such as; Science, English, Maths, PE and Music.
- Support the staff and students in Outdoor Activities such as; Outdoor Education & Forrest Schooling.
- Be a positive role model to students
- Build a positive rapport quickly and build on relationships
- Be trained in MAPA de-escalation
The school is based in the Bodmin area and is easily accessible by both car and public transport from the local areas. The setting recently moved into a newly refurbished building and benefits from state of the art facilities, a supportive and Senior Leadership Team and a reputable approach to behaviour management. There are currently 35 pupils on roll, and you will be joining an established and experienced team of 20 Learning Support Assistants and 10 specialist PRU teachers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
