Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Gloucester
Contract: Full-time/Part-time
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant. You will be dealing with students across Years 7 to 11. This role is pivotal in helping students with challenging behaviour to engage positively within the school environment. You will work both in classrooms and smaller groups, providing targeted support to help students manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students exhibiting challenging behaviour across Years 7–11.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement behaviour management strategies.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions designed to improve emotional regulation and social skills.
- Employ clear, consistent plans to defuse temper outbursts and prevent escalation.
- Foster a positive and safe learning environment that encourages student growth and inclusion.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and leadership teams.

- Proven experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure, with excellent communication skills.

- A proactive, empathetic approach to supporting students’ social and emotional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
