Location: Glossop SK13
Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am-3.30pm
Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour
Start date: As soon as possible

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an understanding Behaviour Support Assistant to assist a pupil in a nurturing, supportive primary school in the Tameside area. The support of behaviour will be on a 1:1 basis with a child finds school challenging due to behavioural, emotional, and social needs. You will work alongside the class teacher and external agencies to help these pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. The start date for this role will be as soon as possible to ensure the child support is embedded within the Autumn Term so they can flourish through the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one behavioural and emotional support to a specific pupil.
- Help implement and adapt behaviour intervention plans, following school policies.
- Support emotional regulation and promote positive social interactions e.g. learning breaks and social stories.
- Work closely with teachers and SEND staff.
- Create a safe, consistent and structured environment where the child can flourish.
What We’re Looking For:
- A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- A person committed to the role and student you are supporting to allow consistency .
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students, school staff and parents.
- Experience working within SEND/youth support/ sports coaching or pastoral support (preferred but not essential).
- Team Teach or equivalent trained (preferred but not essential).
- Experience using positive behaviour management strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
