Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour and have a keen interest in supporting children in their education?

If yes, then this may be the role for you!

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a partnership school located in Darlington, with pupils aged 11-16, to find the ideal candidate to support with a small group of students with challenging behaviour. The staff encourage children to make the right choices and create a positive attitude towards learning.

 

Main duties: 

  • Support learning both in and out of the classroom as directed to by the class teacher
  • Support individual's with behaviour plans
  • Establish excellent working relationships with both pupils and staff
  • Engage with pupils on a level to gain respect and trust
  • Encourage children to interact and work co-operatively with others
  • Support the children in engaging them in learning activities
  • De-escalate high stress situations
  • Use appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials to support learning
  • Promote the acceptance and inclusion of pupils within the classroom

The successful candidate must:

  • Support both staff and students
  • Be able to adapt to a variety of scenarios
  • Show understanding
  • Be energetic and active
  • Level 2 qualification – preferrable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
