Can you make a difference to the lives of young people who have struggled to cope in mainstream education due to their behavioural difficulties?

Can you relate to young people and encourage them to believe in their own potential?

I am looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a key stage 4 class of students, mostly boys, who have been excluded from mainstream education and placed in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) until the end of the academic school year.

You will provide full time support for the children in this class, aiding the class teacher in engaging the children to develop their academic, social and emotional progress.

  • You must be available for full time work after Easter
  • Experience of working in a PRU, or behaviour provision, or youth work is highly desirable
  • Training in behaviour management, physical intervention or Team Teach (restraint) is also highly desirable, although this is available through Teaching Personnel over the Easter holidays
  • Competitive daily pay rates available - from £60-£85 per day dependent on experience and qualifications/training

This is a long term position with the potential to apply for a permanent job if you perform well and like the school. You must be committed to the safe guarding of children and be willing to apply for a DBS (if you don't already have one registered to the update service).

There is a pension scheme available, Teaching Personnel will pay a national insurance contribution for you, and there is a £50 referral bonus available if you recommend another teaching assistant or teacher.

Send your CV today to find out more or to be considered for this position.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
