Are you experienced in working with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Difficulties?

Do you feel you could make a difference to a young persons life in offering your support?

Our client school in Skelmersdale are seeking outstanding Teaching Assistants who can provide support for their young people with SEN, aged 4-11. The young people's needs vary and may include Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, ADHD, SpLD, MLD and associated behavioural difficulties.

Your working day will involve supporting pupils in varying subjects across the curriculum. A primary mainstream model is followed in terms of curriculum across the key stages and all subjects are delivered in ability and age based; differentiated to meet the individual needs of all the children within the class group. You will also assist with the development of social and emotional skills and encourage positive behaviours, relationships and outcomes.  

You will join a highly skilled and supportive team of staff and a fantastic Senior Leadership Team who will guide you every step of the way.

Class sizes are small, with learning being led by a teacher and supported by an appropriate number of teaching assistants reflecting the individual needs and abilities of the group. you may also be asked to support students on a 1:1 basis. You could be placed anywhere from EYFS - KS2, dependent upon your previous experience, abilities and skills.

As this is a challenging environment you will ideally have experience in this sector and have worked with challenging individuals. this doesnt necessarily have to be in a school setting and can be from care, residential, youth work, camp america, prisons, sports coaching etc! The school are open to various experience and try and recruit based on the unique skills a candidate can bring to the rol, giving their pupils exposure to new experiences.

As I am sure you can understand, the start date may change due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. However, this is an excellent time to register with Teaching Personnel as we are on standby to assist with schools' staffing and recruitment requirements as soon as they re-open! This school in particular work in close partnership with Teaching Personnel and have appoointed a number of staff on a permanent basis!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
