Job description

Behaviour mentors needed to work in our partner secondary schools in Tameside. We are looking for behavioural candidates to work in a secondary school setting supporting students who require a learning mentor role model figure to ensure they remain in mainstream education. Those from a youth work, coaching or social care background would be well suited to the position of a behaviour mentor.

We currently work with ten secondary schools throughout the borough of Tameside, providing support staff to work in mainstream classrooms and alternative provisions such as inclusion units supporting behavioural students. We have opportunities to wok on a part time, full time and temporary basis dependant on your situation and the schools needs.

As a behaviour/learning mentor you will be part of a special educational needs team that has weekly meetings and progress reviews, ensuring that students achieve expected levels of progress and are given the best opportunity in their education. You will need to have a strong personality, flexible attitude, resilience and clear passion to work with young people.

**Weekly pay rates ranging form GBP275-GBP400 paid on a weekly basis

**Working with students on a 1:1 and small group basis

To be eligible for the role of a behaviour mentor you will need to provide suitable work based or educational references, have previous experience working in a youth work or care setting and be eligible to apply for a fully enhanced DBS certificate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
