Providing support to those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a secondary school setting.

This position is ideal for anyone with experience working in a secondary school supporting a range of students with complex needs. The role will involve working 1:1 as well as delivering small group intervention strategies to identified students.

* Attractive daily pay (GBP60 - GBP75 per day)

* Opportunity to work in a comprehensive and skilled support department

* Ongoing position starting March 2020

Our client school is a mixed comprehensive in Tameside, which is smaller than the average secondary school with around 800 students currently on roll. The schools last published GCSE results were broadly in line with the national average with those disadvantaged backgrounds making better progress than other students nationally. The school is excellently led by senior leadership who have a concise and direct plan of continued improvement.

This post as an SEMH teaching assistant/Behaviour Mentor will have certain requirements;

* The ability to effectively manage challenging behaviour in different environments

* The ability to quickly build rapport with students and ensure focused learning takes place

* Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour in an educational capacity
