Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

  • Have you worked with young offenders, or perhaps you are looking to pursue a career in a similar line of work?
  • Are you empathetic but also resilient?
  • Do you want to make a difference in a child's learning and take the time to understand their additional needs?
  • If any of the above applies to you then Teaching Personnel might have the perfect opportunity for you.

We work closely with a partner school in RCT which has undergone a lot of change in the past few years. Having recently undergone an amalgamation of two rival schools, the behavioural ethos in the school has been made a priority by the faculty who have worked tirelessly to ensure standards improve. As a result, certain provisions have been put in place around the school so that pupils with various learning needs and behavioural challenges can be mentored effectively outside of a mainstream environment.

Behaviour Intervention officer

You will support pupils who need to be removed from the mainstream of the school and placed under constant supervision. There will be an emphasis on helping them address their behavioural problems and encouraging them to learn in a more tailored setting.

The specific role will be based in the ALN base. The role requires candidates of a strong and resilient nature who can support a team in an intense environment. The candidates will need to be committed to help pupils learn and work with alternative curriculums. You will be able to gain teaching experience where no two days are the same. Your confidence, ability to think quick on your feet and drive to help a child's learning will need to come into place in full effect to be successful in this role.

For the right candidate Teaching Personnel can offer you;

  • £58- £70 a day
  • Transition onto a permanent school contract
  • Full time
  • From September 2019 ongoing
  • Career Progression and Development
  • A Dedicated team of recruiters to support your application process
  • Introductory Trial days into the school
  • Excellent experience if you want to become a teacher
  • The possibilities to Coach your own schools sports teams
  • £50 refer a friend bonus

Candidates working in this provision have come from sporting or psychology backgrounds and are able to build a rapport with children using alternative means, i.e identifying interests and establishing themselves as positive role models. If you have worked in schools before or within a coaching capacity, or if you are looking to work with challenging pupils please do apply.
