Autism Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism and special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a compassionate and committed Autism Teaching Assistant to work part-time in a Salisbury-based school, starting September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, nurturing school environment where you’ll help pupils with autism thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
The Role:

Work with pupils on the autism spectrum (ASC), both 1:1 and in small groups
-
Support learning across a broad curriculum with a focus on communication and emotional regulation
-
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in daily activities
-
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
-
Provide a calm, structured, and consistent presence in the classroom
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience supporting children or young people with autism (formal or informal)
-
A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
-
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
-
A desire to make a real difference in the lives of SEN pupils
-
An enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
