Autism Support Assistant

  • Full-time roles (Monday- Friday 8.30am-3.30pm)

An SEN school in Burnley require multiple Autism Support Assistants. The school caters for pupils 11 to 16 years with General Learning Difficulties. The school require staff on short-term and long-term basis which could be either on a full-time or a part-time basis. The additional staff members would be required to work within the classes and provide general support, working closely with other support staff members and class teachers.

The specialist school are looking for individuals available on a long-term and short-term basis. The school are ideally looking for part-time members of staff to work on a temporary basis to cover emergency/ short-term absences across school. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day
  • Support pupils across the specialist provision
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language and communication
  • Consider the choices, needs and wishes of each pupils and encourage them to make the right choices for learning

The school will consider applications from individuals who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
