Are you a recent graduate with aspirations of becoming a teacher?
Are you determined to help pass on your subject knowledge to students at GCSE level?
Teaching Personnel are currently working exclusively with a leading Trust of Schools in the Nottingham area who is looking to implement our 'Future Teachers Programme' scheme across the academic year. This could potentially begin as soon as November and run right through to the end of the academic year. The Academy Trust currently contains 8 Secondary schools within the Nottinghamshire area and are known for actively helping support students in to a career in education and have their own Teacher Training Programme.
- Position starting after October half-term
- Opportunity to work full or part-time
- 1 year fixed term
- Competitive salary
- Opportunity to be entered to Teacher Training Programme
As a Mentor, you will be responsible for working with small groups of students to help them prepare for their GCSEs. So a relevant degree and passion for delivering subject specific intervention is essential, with previous paid or voluntary work within education beneficial.
The scheme also looks at offering 1:1 support to students struggling in schools as part of the mentoring scheme, giving you the chance to gain experience working with SEN students within a mainstream school setting. This includes working with students with ASC, SEMH, HI, VI to give you a wider experience of providing education for all.
You will also have the opportunity to observe teachers in lessons, have access to subject specific training and to be able to deliver whole class teaching under guidance until you are comfortable to lead on your own. The idea is to offer you the best possible induction in to a teacher training programme so that you have all the necessary tools and experience to succeed.
The Trust of Schools working closely with Teaching Personnel to make sure that all schools are well staffed in the new academic year with Graduates, meaning that you can tailor the amount of work you undertake to your own needs. As the 'Future Teachers Programme' is a new initiative, we are still looking in to possibilities of working full-time either in one site, across a couple of school or spending a term per school.
The schools range from 'Requires Improvement' through to 'Outstanding' giving you the perfect opportunity to experience the full range of teaching experience. The Head of Department at each school offer an incredibly supportive environment and are happy to coach mentors in preparation for the sessions.
As this Trust of Schools is a teacher training school, they are ideally looking for graduates trying to find a pathway in to teaching. If the placement is successful then the school will offer you the golden opportunity in the next academic year to join their teacher training programme.
The Trust is looking to interview candidates as soon as possible! So if this sounds like the ideal opportunity for you or you would be interested in learning more, please contact your local Secondary Specialist, Jack, on the information below.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
