I am recruiting Learning Support Assistants on behalf of one of my clients, a specialist school for children and young people aged 4 to 19 years with complex and severe autistic spectrum conditions. This is an Ofsted graded ‘good’ school which is based in Cheadle (Stockport).

All students have a statement of special educational needs that include reference to the autistic spectrum. Students have a very wide range of cognitive ability. Many have additional needs and a high proportion present with extremely challenging behaviours on entry to the school.

The school desire their learners to achieve the best possible outcomes whatever the extent of their autism or learning difficulties. Teaching staff work closely with specialist speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists to recognise potential, enable learning and ultimately maximise independence.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have previous experience of supporting young people with ASC or young people who display challenging behaviours.

This Stockport school is aiming to appoint Teaching Assistants on a long term rolling contract and permanent basis.
