Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a "GOOD" client primary school in the Fallowfield area of Manchester, M14. The role is to work with a child with ASC on a 1:1 basis starting as soon as possible. The child is in Year 4 and works well academically, however they need support integrating with peers, accessing parts of the curriculum and controlling challenging behaviours. The school are looking for a strong candidate who will work as a positive role model for the child whilst helping them to excel socially and academically.

A candidate with strong behaviour management techniques would be beneficial.

The role is to work in a 'GOOD' two form entry primary school in Fallowfield, Manchester. The school has strong community links and is looking for a Teaching Assistant who will get stuck in to all aspects of school life! The school has high levels of EAL so a candidate who has experience supporting children with English as an additional language would be beneficial but isn't essential.

The successful candidate will assist a Year 3 child with the following additional needs:

  • Autism
  • Disruptive behaviour
  • Difficulty concentrating on set tasks

The school require somebody who has,

  • Psychology degree or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis is desirable
  • Experience of working with ASC, SEMH or Challenging Behaviours is desirable
  • Has a calm but firm approach to Support work

This is a two form entry primary school in Fallowfield area of Manchester with over 400 pupils on roll. OFSTED state "Teachers have high expectations for their pupils. Success is celebrated and as a result the confidence of many pupils is beginning to blossom". Pupils are of R.C faith with a wide range of ethnic diversity. The school are looking to appoint after a trial day basis and the role is to commence ASAP. The post will initially run for two terms with the chance for extension for the right candidate.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
