ASC Secondary Science Teacher Needed in Peterborough

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity which has recently become available within an exceptional SEN school in Peterborough. They are looking for a secondary science teacher who wants to work in a unique environment, passionately cares about the education of the students and wants to make a difference.

The school is a well established ASC specialist school with over 100 students aged 4-16 years old who have received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted. They have outstanding facilities, and a caring staff team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), Overseas Trained Teacher (OTT) or be an Unqualified Teacher with previous Secondary experience
  • Previous SEN experience preferably with ASC would be advantageous, if not you must have a desire to work in SEN.
  • Enthusiastic and engaging personality

The classes are often taught in small groups of up to 8 children. Therefore you must be willing to work closely with children with Autistic Spectrum Condition who may show some challenging behaviours.

Additional qualifications such as Team Teach and Autism Awareness are desirable but not required.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
