Are you a SEN trained teacher looking for a new role?

A School in Newbury are looking for a full time teacher to join their team as soon as possible. As part of the role you will be teaching students ranging from the ages of 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties and complex needs.

The School delivers structured and tailored programmes of education to all pupils based on their Education, Health and Care plans. Classes are of a very small size and will be supported by one or two teaching assistants.

Job Summary and Duties

• Plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups across a range of curriculum subjects
• Devise, implement and review individual education and behaviour plans alongside other staff, communicating regularly with parents, carers, teaching and clinical staff to ensure consistency
• Organise your classroom, resources and displays to provide a stimulating learning environment for students
• Safeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times

Key Skills Required:

• Hold a nationally recognised degree and relevant qualified teaching status (QTS)
• Have proven experience of teaching in a SEN setting
• Be experienced within an SEN setting (ASC / SEMH / MLD)
• Be aware and have full knowledge of recent changes to the national curriculum
• Have experience of planning, delivering and teaching lessons to a good or outstanding level

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
