ALN Teaching Assistant – Large Primary School, Caerphilly CF83
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term placement until at least February halfterm but likely to be for the rest of the academic year until July 2026
Pay: Between £90-100 per day, depedning on if you have a Teaching Assistant qualificatoin

Are you passionate about supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and helping them thrive in a school environment? Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated one to one ALN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a large Primary School in Caerphilly.

This friendly and inclusive school has a strong community ethos and a commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. The role will involve working on a one-to-one basis with a child who requires additional support, helping them to engage with classroom activities and achieve personal learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with ALN, ensuring their social and academic progress.

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans.

  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning.

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with ALN or additional needs.

  • Be patient, compassionate, and adaptable.

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.

  • Possess a valid DBS check on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
