Position: Classroom Assistant
Location: SA70, SA71 & SA73
Salary: £89.83 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Classroom Assistants to join our team and work across a range of primary and secondary schools within the SA70, SA71, and SA73 areas. These schools offer a supportive environment, excellent facilities, and a shared commitment to celebrating student achievement.

Role Overview
As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning and development. Working alongside teachers and other education professionals, you will help deliver tailored support to pupils—particularly those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)—to ensure they are engaged, progressing, and achieving their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.

  • Assist in planning and delivering adapted learning activities that meet individual learning requirements.

  • Support classroom behaviour management, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Aid students during lessons and activities, promoting both academic and personal development.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor and review student progress.

  • Prepare and organise resources and learning materials.

  • Offer personal care and ensure the safety and well-being of students as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, especially those with additional needs, is beneficial but not essential.

  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s education.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine passion for helping every student succeed, regardless of their background or learning needs.

  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate are advantageous but not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
