Job Title:
Additional Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Rawtenstall
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Rawtenstall. This school caters for both primary and secondary pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex learning challenges.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individual and small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, and helping pupils to access the curriculum in a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings.

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour management, and individual learning plans.

  • Promote inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being for all pupils.

  • Help create a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar setting is highly desirable.

  • Background in care, support work, health care assistance, or personal experience supporting individuals with SEN is strongly encouraged.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children and young people.

  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
