Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant

Chepstow

Start date: 3rd November 2025

Full-Time, 8:30am – 3:15pm (Monday to Friday)
£82.51 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young people in education? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Chepstow, working full-time with pupils who have Additional Learning Needs (ALN).


The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ALN.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and classroom engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Essential Requirements

➡️ Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
➡️ EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration (or willingness to apply)
➡️ Ability to provide 2 professional references covering the past 24 months
➡️ Safeguarding training (this will be provided as part of your onboarding process)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
