A 4 form entry school based in Ealing requires immediate support for one of their pupils that have Autism. The individual will be supported in all aspects of the role and will be embraced by all members of the team, The school are a well known school with great Ofsted reports that state that the school excels in Mathematics, English and Sport.
The main role of an ABA tutor is to provide 1:1 support to children with Autism using principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). The support provided would need to entail, observing, implementing ABA methodologies/strategies and providing 1:1 support for the child throughout his day. ABA tuition includes building on the child’s strengths concentrating on communication, social emotional and interaction skills.In terms of managing behaviour, ABA tutors would need to replace inappropriate behaviours with alternatives that serve the same function for the child.
The child who is Autistic would need support with understanding instruction and changing negative behaviour so that it impacts the child and others in a positive way.
