3x Learning Support Assistants – Independent SEN All-Through School – Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role:
Our client, a highly respected independent special educational needs (SEN) school in Christchurch, Dorset, is seeking to appoint a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2025. The school caters to primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing and individualised learning environment for all students.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their personal and educational goals. You will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored support to meet each student’s unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN
-
Assist with the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities
-
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
-
Support pupils’ personal care, where necessary, with dignity and respect
-
Contribute to a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Have experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
-
Be empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
-
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
Be flexible, resilient, and committed to ongoing professional development
-
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) – desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
