121 Support Assistant
Across Bridgend Local Authority
Hourly Rate: £12.50 per hour
**Full Time & Part Time roles available**
Our Specialist SEN Branch at Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with Bridgend Local Authority to recruit several 121 Support Assistants for the Primary & Secondary Schools across Bridgend. You will be tasked with providing 121 Support for children and young people who have a wide range of Additional Learning Needs to access learning in a way that best suits them whilst supporting them socialise appropriately. You will work with school staff to ensure the inclusion of pupils in a mainstream school whilst supporting the class teacher in delivering the curriculum to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

The Successful 121 Support Assistant will:
- Promote the independence, inclusion, and equality of children with a sensory impairment, medical needs, behaviour difficulties or communication difficulties within mainstream schools.
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model whilst motivating pupils, promoting, and reinforcing self-esteem.
- Assist with the development of the personal needs of complex, medical and sensory impaired children, children with behaviour and social or communication difficulties.
If you have a background in residential, medical care or have experience with challenging behaviour this could be an ideal opportunity for you. However, If you are worried that you haven’t had specific experience working with Children who have Additional Learning, Please do not worry any longer. We are interested in speaking with people from all walks of life – including personal experience.
We are particularly interested in speaking to potential candidates who have an interest in challenging behaviour. Having team teach training is advantageous but not essential – so please do still apply if you are interested:
