121 Support Assistant

Hourly Rate: £11.85

Our Specialist SEN Branch at Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with Bridgend Local Authority to recruit several 121 Support Assistants for the Primary, Secondary & Specialist Provisions across Bridgend. You will be tasked with providing 121 Support for children who have a wide range of Additional Learning Needs to access learning in a way that best suits them. You will work with school staff to ensure the inclusion of pupils in a mainstream school and to support the school in delivering the curriculum to meet the pupil’s Educational, Communication, Social, Emotional and Behaviour needs.

The Successful 121 Support Assistant will:

  • Promote the independence, inclusion, and equality of children with a sensory impairment/medical needs/behaviour difficulties or communication difficulties within mainstream schools.
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model whilst motivating pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
  • Assist with the development of the personal needs of complex, medical and sensory impaired children, children with behaviour and social or communication difficulties.

If you have a background in residential, medical care or have experience with challenging behaviour this could be an ideal opportunity for you. However, If you are worried that you haven’t had specific experience working with Children who have Additional Learning, Please do not worry any longer. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
