1-to-1 SEN Support
Bridgend
Pay from £13.75 per hour and £89.38 per day
Part time 10-15 hours per week~ 5 days 2-3 hours per day
We are looking for a flexible and patient teaching assistant to work in a local primary school supporting pupils with ALN(Additional Learning Needs). No prior experience working in a school is required but experience either professionally or personally with ALN is vital. The primary school is mainstream so will cover the standard Welsh Curriculum; the hours in the day are usually given to the pupils in the lessons they struggle with the most so this will very for each pupil.
You will need to be flexible to work to the required hours of the pupil that you’re supporting, the role is very fast paced and will need you to be adaptable to pupils needs and really learn triggers and ways to help the pupils cope in class.
As you can appreciate, due to the needs of the pupils, consistency is key. Therefore, we are looking for individuals which are looking to commit long term to the role, and gain familiarity and routine with the pupils.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant are:
- Ensuring pupils are engages and comfortable during lessons
- Assist in personal care tasks as an when if needed e.g. toileting and feeding.
- To plan and implement appropriate techniques to deal with challenging behaviour in pupils where appropriate.
- To take part in relevant training and courses as required.
Requirements and qualifications
- Enhanced DBS (We can help you facilitate this)
- Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) (We can help you facilitate this)
- Has relevant experience either personal or professional to the SEN sector.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
