1:1 Tutor Needed – Build Confidence with a KS4 Pupil in Sherborne

Are you passionate about helping young people re-discover their love of learning?

Teaching Personnel are looking for a 1:1 tutor in the Sherborne area to support a KS4 pupil who needs help re-engaging with education.

This is not your typical classroom role, it’s about building trust, finding creative ways to connect, and helping a young person take positive steps forward in their learning journey.

About the Role

  • 1:1 tuition with a KS4 student
  • Focus on rebuilding confidence, motivation, and building key literacy/numeracy skills
  • 15 hours per week, during the school day
  • Sessions delivered in person
  • You’ll plan and deliver a tailored programme that meets the student’s individual needs

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent), or an experienced tutor/HLTA with strong behaviour support skills
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges
  • Someone who is patient, engaging, and resilient – able to build relationships first, teach second
  • A valid Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
