1:1 Teaching Assistant role - Glastonbury

Teaching Personnel are working with a Mainstream Primary school in Glastonbury who are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a SEN child in the EYFS with EBD and showing traits of ASD on a 1:1 basis.

The school are a supportive and friendly network with excellent facilities.

The successful TAs daily duties will include;

* Providing 1:1 support for the child

* Supporting the child inside and outside of the classroom

* Helping the child to socially interact with other children

* Use your initiative to differentiate activities to support the child's needs

* Work closely with the class teacher to give the child the best support

* Follow an EHC plan and reward system for the child

To be a successful candidate for this role you will need to;

* Have previous experience working within a school supporting SEN children

* Be able to communicate effectively with different members of staff and parents

* Have knowledge of the EYFS and National Curriculum

* Have a friendly caring personality

* Preferably an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in the Classroom

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
