1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 teaching assistant for a specialist provision in the North Lancashire area.

The school supports up to 70 students who have social, emotional and mental health needs and may be diagnosed with associated learning difficulties such as ASD.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, your role is predominantly based within the classroom, assisting your assigned student with engagement and understanding of their lessons. Due to the nature of their needs, you will need to give a patient and assuring approach at all times when helping them to understand their work.
You will also be required to maintain their behaviour, ensuring they are acting appropriately towards students and staff and are understanding of the consequences of their actions.

The hours are from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, and is a permanent opportunity.

You

Ideally applicants will be tactful at behaviour management and be adaptable to a number of situations.
You should have experience in working with children or within an education environment, however we are open to experience in other relevant areas.
You MUST have a child only, enhanced DBS which is registered to the update service, or a willingness to obtain one via Teaching Personnel.
