1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are working in partnership with a highly respected specialist education setting in the Ringwood area that is widely recognised for its caring ethos, excellent facilities, and commitment to supporting children with complex needs. The school provides a nurturing and well-structured environment where pupils are supported holistically, with a strong focus on communication, independence, and wellbeing.

The Role

• Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant position

• Supporting pupils aged 5–11

• Working hours: 8.45am to 4.45pm

• Immediate start available

• Primary-based provision

• Providing dedicated one-to-one support to pupils throughout the school day

• Supporting learning, communication, and daily routines

Student Needs

Pupils may present with:

• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

• Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)

• Communication and interaction needs

• Physical and sensory needs

• Complex developmental delays

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN

• Experience supporting children with PMLD or SLD is highly desirable

• A caring, patient, and resilient approach

• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children

• Must be able to drive due to the rural location of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
