Job Title: 1:1 SEN Support
Location: West Bromwich
Job Type: Full/ Part Time (Flexible Working)
Are you a passionate graduate, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Behaviour Support Worker looking to work with children that really need you?
You don't necessarily need to have school-based experience, sports graduates, sports coaches, youth workers and care workers are also welcome to apply also. We are seeking passionate individuals that have a desire for supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEN.
About the Role
The role of a 1:1 SEN Support involves working in mainstream Primary schools, often in a dedicated SEN provision to provide tailored support for pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (in either adult or child settings)
- Recognised qualification in education, behaviour support, care, residential or Social Work sectors
- Confident designing and adapting individualised behaviour and learning support plans
- Experience working with adults or children with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, or learning disabilities
- The ability to maintain a calm composure to ensure a proactive approach to high pressure and emotionally demanding situations
- Full UK driving licence or ability to access public transport
- Enhanced Child’s DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement proactive learning support plans, working 1:1 or leading small group sessions
- Support classroom engagement and facilitate inclusive learning experiences
- Implement behaviour management strategies, particularly in challenging situations
- Provide consistent support to pupils, assisting with emotional regulation and independence
- Communicate with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent supportive care and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
