1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic candidate to work as a Learning Support Assistant in Plymouth. The role would suit someone who has had previous experience in SEN and able to think on their feet while ensuring the pupils needs are met. This would be from April 2024 Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm.


Main Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Required to work on a 1:1 basis with the selected pupil encouraging and supporting the work set by the class teacher. 
  • Shadow the pupil during all lessons throughout the day and potentially during lunch time. 
  • During the lessons you may need to prevent potential disruption that may occur
  • Establish productive working relationships with the pupil and set expectations.  
  • To give positive encouragement, feedback, and praise to reinforce pupils’ efforts and develop self-esteem.  
  • Promote the inclusion of pupils and encourage pupils to interact with each other.  

Requirements:

  • Compassion and empathy
  • A calm and adaptable personality
  • High emotional resilience
  • Experience in nursing, mental health work or youth work
  • Commitment to the role Monday – Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
